Concerns
| The hosting site and setup - At this point, my recommendation would be for the hosting site to be www.brinkster.com. This is the hosting company I use, and their technical support has proven to be phenomenal. I can send an email at 8:30 on a Friday night and have an answer in 20 minutes. I can then follow-up with another question and expect the same response time. |
Brinkster charges about $78.00 a year for the domain and privileges. This is money that I will need in advance in order to set up the site and manage it. I will register it in your name, but would need to have knowledge and access of usernames and passwords. For this reason, it would be easiest if I was given purview over the site, or that I was consulted regarding usernames and passwords. I would not be able to effectively do my job otherwise.
We will also need to discuss the necessary email accounts on the domain, as I will need to set them up as well. I would prefer to set myself up as the webmaster.
| Updates and Maintenance - Updates should be sent via email whenever possible, and a timeframe established for their posting. For example, the most reasonable timeframe that you can expect is an update within 24 hours of when I receive the email. If this is not satisfactory, we can discuss other options. As I said before, I will need 24/7 access to the site in order to accomplish this. Updates are billed out at the rate of $15/hour labor, with each series of updates taking no less than 15 minutes. Maintenance contracts can be included or separated from the budget of the overall project, but must be expressly directed in either case. | |
| Timeframe and Expectations - Your specific goals and requirements need to be detailed and your timeline explained before any work is to be done. I need to know what constraints I am under in order to be fair to you. |
